Tyrone Back in Action on Sunday

We’re just a few hours away from the beginning of a brand new GAA season and already expectation is beginning to build on what Tyrone team will take to the field on Sunday. Once again Mickey Harte has three goalkeepers in the squad so it’s likely that we will see him employ the rotational policy which has served Tyrone very well over the last couple of years. In defense he has a number of options but it looks certain that Strabane’s Danny McBride, Kildress man Dean McNally and Eglish man Ryan McKenna will also see game time early in the new year.

It will be interesting to see who lines out at midfield as Conan Grugan, Mickey Murphy and Colm Cavanagh have been ruled out of the McKenna Cup. That could open the door for Plunkett Kane to partner Sean Cavanagh? In the forward line we can look forward to a debut for Clonoe’s Connor McAliskey and perhaps the return of Kyle Coney and Ronan O’Neill. We’ll know a lot more come 2pm on Sunday afternoon.
