Division Two Wrap Up with Hagan’s Bar
Paul Rafferty denied Cookstown Fr Rock’s two points at Pearse Park in Galbally converting a last minute 45. He finished the match with 1-7. Cookstown played three quarters of the match with fourteen men after Jason Quinn was dismissed for a second yellow card after just 14 minutes. Galbally led at the break 1-7 to 2-2 thanks to a Rafferty goal. John Gilmore got the two first half majors for the Fr Rock’s. The second half ebbed and flowed and Owen Mulligan looked like he had won it for Cookstown with seven minute to go with a trade mark point from play. Final Score – Galbally 1-9 Cookstown 2-6
Aghyaran played host to Killeeshil and they recorded a comfortable 1-17 to 0-10 win with Chris McGrath getting their goal and Sean Byrne and Michael Anderson among the points, Kevin Hughes and Packie McMullan on target for the visitors. Pomeroy edged out Augher 1-10 to 1-9 at Plunkett Park with Sean Murphy getting the winners’ goal and Sean Quinn and Justin McCaffery contributing points, Aidan McElroy with the St.Macartans’ major.
It proved to be a good day for sides in the lower regions of the table with Gortin and Clann na Gael picking up much needed wins over Rock and Urney respectively. Kevin Mossey and Diarmuid McNulty were among the points for Gortin while Patrick Conwell and Paddy Conwell found the net for Clann na Gael. Conor McCreesh once again top scored for Rock.
Eskra defeated Loughmacrory 1-11 to 0-10 with Shane Hackett getting their goal and Peter Hughes, Paul Marlow and Paul Meegan contributing points. Derrytresk had a superb 2-9 to 2-8 win at home to Strabane with Niall Gavin getting both of their goals, John McLaughlin and Martin Mongan finding the net for the Sigersons. Moy got the better of Stewartstown 0-18 to 2-9 thanks to points from Eunan Deeney, Colm Cavanagh, Philip Jordan and Ryan O’Neill, Gareth Devlin and Ronan O’Neill the Harps’ goal scorers.
